Manufacturing techniques

Manufacturing techniques

In our company, the casting process is divided into four basic stages that determine the quality of the castings produced.

Casting mould design

The design of a mould or casting model is the beginning of the entire casting production process, so the quality and precision of its manufacture often determines the final quality and form of the product. The company uses CAD systems at the mould design stage, which are then made in a modern toolroom after CAM conversion.

Casting mould design

The preparation and execution of the omodelling is determined by the type of planned production. For unit and small batch production of medium and large castings according to overall dimensions and weight, wooden models are made, for small castings models made of wood and plastics and resins are made.

Aluminium foundry - manufacturing methods

Aluminium casting is a well-known but increasingly used technological method for the production of products and semi-finished products due to its versatility. For this reason, aluminium foundry is the company’s main line of business. The company has a whole fleet of casting machines at its disposal, has the capacity to melt 3 tonnes of metal per day in modern furnaces and, above all, employs top-class specialists with many years of experience and the necessary foundry knowledge.

Casting in sand moulds

The preparation and execution of the omodelling is determined by the type of planned production. For unit and small batch production of medium and large castings according to overall dimensions and weight, wooden models are made, for small castings models made of wood and plastics and resins are made.

The plant has the production capacity to make aluminium castings in sand moulds up to 300kg in weight and 1.5m3 in size. This method is used to make cast garden elements, cast chair parts, cast automotive parts for vintage cars, casts for agricultural machines, casts of parts for printing machines.

Sand casts are made from gypsum models supplied by the customer and wooden casting models that we will prepare according to the customer’s drawing or design.

Die casting

Although the cost of preparing the mould is higher, this method ensures a faster production cycle and the service life of the mould makes it possible to carry out production series of up to 20,000 parts from a single mould. Thanks to our own construction and technological background, modern tool room and production capabilities, the tools offered by our foundry are offered at reasonable prices and the time of project realisation is always precisely defined. This is followed by punctuality in the execution of orders.

Machining of castings

Due to the increasingly frequent requests from customers to receive the finished product, the foundry is equipped with machinery that allows machining operations in the areas of turning, milling, cutting and drilling and tapping of holes.

As some aluminium alloys require specially dedicated tools, the exact machining capabilities of aluminium castings are prepared by the company on individual request. Machining is carried out on the basis of STP documentation.

Finishing plant

Depending on the customer’s request, the factory performs finishing and cleaning operations on aluminium castings and brass castings. This mainly involves knocking castings out of moulds, cutting off pouring and over-casting, grinding and sandblasting the castings. Most of the operations are carried out using presses, saws and cutting grinders, although very often castings are finished by hand with the help of pneumatic and electric tools.
