The components of the gating system are most often cut off and remelted. In foundry practice, two aspects are most relevant – liquid alloy preparation and mould preparation. The biggest challenge is to properly develop the technology for both liquid alloy preparation and mould preparation, taking into account technical, economic and environmental aspects.
Casting models for the production of castings in sand moulds are made of wood, resin and composite materials. Depending on the complexity of the casting and the desired features of the product, models are made using traditional methods and 3D printing technology.
Wood casting models are made in cooperation with companies in the toolmaking sector, some less complex tools are made by the plant in its in-house mechanical department.
